After a series of early season storm systems dumped snow across Utah and Colorado last week, Wolf Creek in Pagosa Springs Colorado became the first North American resort to open for 2108/2019 season. In the 7 days leading up to opening day, 30” of snow fell on Southern Colorado and Wolf Creek Pass, giving the resort enough base to start lift operations and open almost 60% of its terrain.
Wolf Creek’s October 13th opening beats out two other Colorado resorts, Arapahoe Basin and Loveland, which have perennially fought for bragging rights associated with the first spinning chair of the season. Another sign that winter’s coming!
