This week, we caught wind of more resort acquisition news as it was announced that Deer Valley will be joining a newly formed company that’s emerging from the Aspen Skiing Co. / KSL Capital Partners acquisition of Intrawest Resorts and Mammoth Mountains. To be quite frank, the whole situation is pretty complicated at the moment due to the sheer volume of players involved in this reorganization of resorts. Currently, there are 12 resorts under what will eventually become a newly formed, independent parent company that will have roots in Intrawest, Mammoth Resorts, Squaw Valley Ski Holdings, Aspen Skiing Co., and Henry Crown and Company. An announcement and brand launch for this new company is expected to occur before the start of winter.
