September 17, 2015
Founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 1950 by aeronautical engineer Howard Head, the company produced one of the first successful metal-wood composite downhill skis, the Head Standard. Now headquartered in Kennelbach, Austria, Head is leading global manufacturer and marketer of premium ski equipment. Head Skis, Head Boots, and Tyrolia Bindings are all part of the Head Ski Company.
With athletes like Lindsay Vonn, Bode Miller, and Ted Ligety all competing on Head product, it’s clear that they have the high-end racing market dialed-in. On the consumer side they also have some of the finest product on the market. Current consumer innovations include their electronic Intelligence ski technology, which stores energy you put into the ski, releasing it for faster acceleration, Adaptive Fit, which lets you customize the last width of the ski boot, Heat Moldable boot liners, and Freeflex ski bindings. We are proud to add Head to our premium line for the 2015-2016 season, joining Volkl, K2 Rossignol, Line, and Elan.
